I’ve read with interest fellow student Josh Vorhees blog. It seems our research topics are very related yet very different. While I am writing on how blogging has impacted and affected newspapers as well as how newspapers will continue to exist due to blogging, Josh has taken a different approach and will focus more on how reporters use blogging.
Both Josh and I work as reporters and I find it nice to have someone in the class with the same background. We both also earned BA degrees in English. I do feel sorry that Josh has to cover the county court system though! That’s probably a stressful job. I just finished covering a murder trial here and it lasted a week and because this is a weekly newspaper, it was really difficult for me to handle along with everything else.
I feel really comfortable reading Josh’s blog because of his background and I understand what he’s been writing about. Some of the other students chose really tough topics that I’ve had trouble grasping. So it’s nice to find a blog I can read and not feel behind!
